Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Sports Physiotherapist?

Sports Physiotherapists are experts in the prevention and management of injuries resulting from sport and exercise participation at all ages and at all levels of ability. Specialised physiotherapists provide evidence-based advice on safe participation in a particular sport and exercise, and promote an active lifestyle to aid individuals in improving and maintaining their quality of life. Sports Physiotherapists also play a huge role in helping athletes of all ages and all levels of ability to enhance their performance.

Why should I see a golf-specific Sports Physiotherapist?

Sports Physiotherapists who specialise in a particular sport undergo advanced training, both formal and informal, to develop an intimate understanding of the demands of the sport. A golf-specific Sports Physiotherapist understands the biomechanics of the golf swing, how your body impacts your ability to swing, and the impact of playing golf on your body. This facilitates efficient, specific, and effective interventions and programs.

Who can attend Green Golf Physio & Performance?

Anyone can attend an appointment at Green Golf Physio & Performance. Although Matt has a special interest in golf performance and rehab/injuries, he has worked across a broad spectrum of issues and can treat all ages and levels of ability. A referral is not required.

What do I need to bring?

Although you do not need a referral, if another practitioner has referred you, please bring any information and letters they have given you. Please also bring any medical imaging including reports where possible.

Wear comfortable clothing (golf shirt and shorts/pants) that can be moved or modified where appropriate depending on what area of the body is being treated. Joint range of motion may need to be assessed so constrictive clothing can reduce your ability to move adequately.

Is there a dress code?

Yes, we must comply with Concord Golf Club's dress code. If you wear neat golf attire that's fine. If you're not sure, please refer to these dress code details.

Where are you located and where do I park?

We are located inside the Performance Centre on the practice range at Concord Golf Club.
See the map here. Please use the Majors Bay Road entrance.

If you're not a CGC member, just buzz at the gate to be let in for your appointment with Green Golf Physio. Please park in the parking area immediately inside this gate - it's only a short walk up the path to us.

When and how can I pay for consultations?

Payment is required at the time of the consultation.

We have a HICAPs system that allows immediate processing of your health fund claim. Claiming cannot be backdated so it is imperative that you bring your membership card with you to swipe on the day. EFTPOS is available for all gap payments. The rebate varies depending on your health fund and level of cover.

If you forget your health fund card we have EFTPOS available to take the entire payment and will supply you with a receipt to claim the rebatable amount with your health fund.
